Faculty of Law UII in Collaboration with Justitia Training Center Hold the Training and Competency Test of Certified Contract Drafter

Yogyakarta – The Faculty of Law, Universitas Islam Indonesia (FH UII) through the Center for Education and Training (Pusdiklat) FH UII in collaboration with the Justitia Training Center successfully held the training and competency test of Certified Contract Drafter. This program was carried out for four days, started with the training conducted online on January 26-28, 2026, and continued with the Competency Test on January 29, 2026, which took place at the Faculty of Law, Islamic University of Indonesia (FH UII), Yogyakarta.

This program as a part of FH UII’s commitment in enhancing the capacity and competitiveness of human resources in the legal field, especially the presence of contract drafters has become highly essential in the professional sphere, encompassing both academic fields and legal practice. This training was attended by 25 participants with diverse backgrounds, consisting of students of the Faculty of Law UII, fresh graduates, academics, and legal practitioners. The diversity of the participants’ backgrounds reflects a strong participant interest in enhancing contract drafting competencies as a strategic capability in the field of business and civil law.

The training was accompanied by leading legal experts and practitioners, including: Prof. Hikmahanto Juwana, S.H., LL.M., Ph.D., Dr. Inda Rahadiyan, S.H., M.H., Marcia Wibisono, S.H., M.H., LL.M., Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chandra Yusuf, S.H., LL.M., MBA., M.Mgt., Alvin Ambardhy, S.H., LL.M., Prof. Dr. Faisal Santiago,  S.H., M.M., Jesconiah Siahaan, S.H., LL.M., and Andriansyah Tiawarman K, S.H., M.H., .

During the online training which lasted for three days, participants were equipped with various substantive and practical materials on contract drafting. The materials, consist of the basic principles of contracts, techniques for drafting clauses, mitigation of legal risks in contracts, analysis and resolution of contractual problems. Participants are also taught how to apply theory in practical case studies and contract drafting, so they can advance their critical thinking skills in problem solving and be able to enact contract. All materials are delivered interactively by speakers with theoretical approaches and case studies, so that participants not only comprehend concepts, but also are able to apply them practically.

The next agenda is the competency test of contract drafter, was held on January 29, 2026, at the Faculty of Law UII. This competency test aims to measure participants’ understanding, skills, and ability to draft and analyze contracts in accordance with the specified competency. Through the test, participants are expected to be able to demonstrate professional competence as a reliable and professional contract drafter. The models of competency exam consist of written exam, preparation of legal audit assignments, and presentations. Before the exam began, the Justitia Training Center gave a briefing to the participants. “The competency test is carried out according to the standards of the Professional Certification Body of Contract Drafter which will ultimately give the title of competent or not to the participant as a contract drafter, so that it is hoped that all participants can follow in an orderly manner”, Justitia also emphasized that after the participant is declared competent and receives a certificate from BNSP, it is allowed to practice as a professional legal auditor. The exam result showed that all participants passed the test and were entitled to be formally recognized as a Certified Contract Drafter.

The implementation of this training and certification is a form of synergy between FH UII and Justitia Training Center in supporting the improvement of the quality of professional, competent, and competitive legal human resources. In the future, the Education and Training Center of Faculty of Law UII is expected to continue to conduct other training and certification programs to prepare for job requirements and the complexity of legal issues.
