FH UII Holds the 6th UII Law Fair Mohammad Natsir Cup 2024

The 6th UII Law Fair was held on November 22-24, 2024 at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Islam Indonesia (FH UII). The UII Law Fair is a legal competition event by the Law Study and Writing Forum (FKPH) FH UII which is held every 2 years. The UII Law Fair is known as one of the prestigious, prestigious and quality events, which is attended by various well-known universities.

The 6th UII Law Fair was officially opened by Prof. Dr. Budi Agus Riswandi, S.H., M.Hum as the Dean of FH UII. The implementation of the UII Law Fair is a real form of respect for Mohammad Natsir, as well as a forum for all students who are the golden generation of Indonesia to contribute to building the nation and developing their abilities.

The 6th UII Law Fair was held by organizing a National Law Competition that could be participated by law students throughout Indonesia with the theme “Legal Development Strategy in Welcoming Golden Indonesia 2045”. This National Law Competition consists of a Law Debate Competition, a Scientific Writing Competition, and a Legislative Drafting Competition.

This Law Debate Competition has competed debate teams from various Law Faculties (FH) in Indonesia which began with the Preliminary Round through a video submission system. After the online Preliminary Round, the Quarter Finals and Semifinals were held at FH UII on November 23, 2024. Then the Final Round was held the next day in the series of the last day of the 6th UII Law Fair, namely November 24, 2024.

The Scientific Writing Competition began by sending files in the form of soft files and hard files in the Preliminary Round. Teams from various FHs in Indonesia were selected to determine 5 finalists who finally made a live presentation at the Final Round at FH UII on November 23, 2024.

The 6th UII Law Fair Legislative Drafting Competition raised the theme “Draft Law on Customary Law Communities”. The preliminary round was attended by various teams by sending files in soft and hard file formats. Then 5 finalists were selected who finally made a live presentation at the Final Round at FH UII on November 23, 2024.

Before the Final Round of all competition branches was held, a National Seminar was held entitled “National Legal Progressivity in Responding to Global Challenges Towards Golden Indonesia 2045”. The National Seminar was opened by the Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Dr. Suhartoyo, S.H., M.H., as the keynote speaker. Then through presentations from prominent speakers such as Prof. Dr. I Gusti Ayu Ketut Rachmi Handayani, S.H., M.M. as the Head of LPPM Universitas Sebelas Maret, Prof. Dr. Enny Nurbaningsih, S.H., M.Hum. as a Judge of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia, and Prof. Dr. Ni’matul Huda, S.H. M.Hum. as a Professor of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Islam Indonesia who thoroughly discussed the problems of national law in realizing Indonesia Emas 2045.

The Closing Ceremony as the closing of the series of activities of the 6th UII Law Fair was enlivened by a drama performance that was not only for entertainment but also packaged as an announcement of the winners of each competition branch. In the Closing Ceremony which was attended by the Natsir family, the overall winner of the 6th UII Law Fair was also announced who then took home the rotating trophy, namely the Mohammad Natsir Cup.

The winners of all branches of the 6th UII Law Fair competition were colored by various universities. In the Legal Debate Competition branch, the first place and best speaker were won by the delegation of Diponegoro University and the second place was won by the delegation of Semarang State University. Then, in the Scientific Writing Competition, the first place winner and best file was the delegation of Sebelas Maret University, the second place winner was the delegation of the University of Indonesia, and the third place winner was the delegation of Gadjah Mada University. Meanwhile, in the Legislative Drafting Competition, the first place winner was the delegation of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University, the second place winner was the University of Indonesia, and the third place winner was the delegation of Brawijaya University. In the 6th UII Law Fair, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University won the overall champion title and received the rotating trophy, the Mohammad Natsir Cup, which was presented directly by the grandson of Mr. Mohammad Natsir.
