Meeting between the Faculty of Law, UII and Kobe University in Jakarta

On Wednesday, 21 January 2026, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII), along with his delegation, had the honor of meeting with professors from Kobe University. Distinguished professors from Kobe University who attended the meeting included Professor Yuka Kaneko (Center for Social System Innovation, Kobe University), Professor Kozo Kagawa (Emeritus Professor, Kobe University), and Professor Suruga Terukazu (Emeritus Professor, Kobe University). The meeting was facilitated by Professor Insan from Maulana & Partner and was held at the Maulana & Partner Office, Mayapada Tower, Jakarta.

During the meeting, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, UII, Professor Dr. Budi Agus Riswandi, expressed his hope for the establishment of a harmonious collaboration between the Faculty of Law UII and Kobe University in the future. It is expected that cooperation can be explored in the near future and formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two institutions, which will serve as the legal basis for collaboration and mutual benefit.

Such an agreement is considered essential, as it aligns with common practices in international cooperation and provides a legal framework to access various facilities and opportunities, including student exchange programs. Through this scheme, students of the Faculty of Law UII would have the opportunity to study at Kobe University for one semester without being required to pay tuition fees.

Kobe University is expected to become the first partner institution of the Faculty of Law UII in Japan. In addition to providing learning opportunities for students of the Faculty of Law UII in Japan, the partnership is also expected to facilitate faculty collaboration in research and international community service, particularly in light of the growing number of Indonesian citizens currently working in Japan.
