UII-Yuntech Summer Cultural Camp 2025

Yogyakarta, Indonesia – Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) is proud to host the UII-Yuntech Summer Cultural Camp 2025, an enriching academic and cultural exchange program designed to strengthen ties between UII and National Yunlin University of Science and Technology (Yuntech), Taiwan. This collaborative initiative involves the Faculty of Law, Faculty of Business and Economics, and Yuntech, Taiwan. The three-day program will run from Monday, August 25, 2025, to Wednesday, August 27, 2025, welcoming a delegation from Yuntech comprising three accompanying lecturers and fifteen student participants.

The official welcoming ceremony for the delegation took place in the Auditorium on the 4th Floor of the Faculty of Law UII. The event was well-attended by leaders from the Faculty of Law, including Prof. Dr. Budi Agus Riswandi, S.H., M.Hum., Dr. Sri Hastuti Puspitasari, S.H., M.H., Dodik Setiawan Nur Heriyanto, S.H., M.H., LL.M., Ph.D., and Dr. Aroma Elmina Martha, S.H., M.H. Also present were leaders from the Faculty of Business and Economics: Prof. Johan Arifin, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D., Dekar Urumsah, SE., S.Si., M.Com(IS)., Ph.D., CFrA., Arief Rahman, S.E., M.Com., Ph.D., Prof. Rifqi Muhammad, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D., Maulidyati Aisyah, S.E., M.Com(Adv)., Muamar Nur Kholid, S.E., M.Ak., Akt., and Dra. Marfuah, M.Si., Ak.

Prof. Dr. Budi Agus Riswandi, S.H., M.Hum., Dean of the UII Faculty of Law and host, delivered the opening remarks, symbolically commencing the three-day series of activities. The event was also attended by 25 UII students, including 18 students from the Faculty of Business and Economics and the Faculty of Law, along with 7 students who served as buddies. The agenda proceeded with introductions among all participants. Following the opening ceremony, participants attended a Monsoon Workshop at the Computer Laboratory, guided by lecturers from the Faculty of Business and Economics UII. Simultaneously, the Faculty of Law UII hosted a Lecturer Workshop with Prof. Wang from Yuntech as the speaker. This workshop delved into current legal topics related to Constitutional Law and State Administrative Law in Taiwan, attended by Faculty of Law lecturers UII, particularly those from the State Administrative Law and Constitutional Law departments.

After the workshops, the delegation and summer camp participants proceeded to the Central Library of UII for a lunch reception, providing an excellent opportunity for closer interaction. The agenda continued with a visit to the UII Museum, offering insights into the history and development of UII over time. In the afternoon, participants were treated to a new experience with the Lava Tour, exploring the iconic natural beauty of Mount Merapi and visiting the Merapi Museum.

For the second day, participants were invited to explore the rich history and culture of Yogyakarta. The first destination was the Chocolate Museum, where they learned about the chocolate-making process and sampled various local products. The journey continued to the Yogyakarta Palace (Keraton Yogyakarta), a captivating center of Javanese culture, showcasing its stunning architecture and traditions. The highlight of the second day was a visit to Prambanan Temple, a magnificent UNESCO World Heritage Site, displaying the beauty of ancient Hindu temple architecture.

On the third day, UII-Yuntech Summer Cultural Camp 2025 participants will be treated to an authentic Javanese cultural experience at Royal Brongto. Participants will engage in a Jemparingan (traditional Javanese archery) workshop and a Gamelan class, learning about the traditional musical instrument that is a hallmark of Indonesian culture. Additionally, participants will visit the Batik Museum and take part in a batik-making class, a globally recognized traditional craft.

In the evening, to conclude the entire series of activities, a Gala Dinner will be held at Abhayagiri Restaurant. This event will serve as the culmination of shared experiences, marked by the presentation of souvenirs to the delegation representatives, followed by a documentation session. This program is not only expected to enrich the academic and cultural insights of the participants but also to lay a strong foundation for ongoing collaboration between UII and Yuntech in the future, potentially involving more faculties within Universitas Islam Indonesia.
