Undergraduate Study Program in Law Conducts Socialization for 20-Credit Internship Program

The Undergraduate Study Program in Law of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Islam Indonesia, successfully held a socialization event for the “Impactful Legal Practice Internship” program. The event was conducted virtually via Zoom Meeting on Thursday, February 5, 2026, starting at 1:00 PM WIB. This session aimed to prepare students for the 20-credit internship program scheduled for the even semester of the 2025/2026 academic year.

The event was attended by the leadership of FH UII, including the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Budi Agus Riswandi, S.H., M.Hum.; the Head of the Undergraduate Study Program in Law, Dodik Setiawan Nur Heriyanto, S.H., M.H., LL.M., Ph.D.; the Secretary of the International Program, Dr. Aroma Elmina Martha, S.H., M.H.; the Secretary of the Regular Program, Bagya Agung Prabowo, S.H., M.Hum., Ph.D.; and the FH UII Internship Team.

In his remarks, the Dean of FH UII, Prof. Dr. Budi Agus Riswandi, S.H., M.Hum., stated that this program is one of the flagship initiatives at the undergraduate level, serving as a continuation of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) policy.

“Students are expected not only to engage in technical internship activities but also to deepen their knowledge comprehensively, as 100 percent of the activities will be carried out over approximately six months at partner institutions. ini These partners were selected based on their high reputation and proven track record in absorbing internship alumni into the job market,” explained Prof. Budi Agus Riswandi.

On the same occasion, the Head of the Undergraduate Program in Law, Dodik Setiawan Nur Heriyanto, S.H., M.H., LL.M., Ph.D., expressed his appreciation to all the partners in attendance for their willingness to provide learning opportunities for students. He explained that the program offers significant academic advantages.

“Through this program, internship activities can be converted into 20 credits. Based on the latest guidelines, this conversion includes the Legal Research Methods course. Furthermore, students can graduate without a thesis if they produce outputs in the form of publications in reputable international journals or Sinta 1 or Sinta 2 accredited national journals,” stated Dodik Setiawan.

The socialization event also invited Faculty of Law strategic partners, namely: KNEKS (National Sharia Economy and Finance Committee), the Judicial Commission of the Republic of Indonesia, ELSAM (Institute for Policy Research and Advocacy), the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia, the Central Board of Muhammadiyah, Hukum Online, PT. Aino and Migrant CARE.

The technical briefing session was delivered by the Head of the FH UII Internship Team, Ratna Hartanto, S.H., M.Hum., and was moderated by Nurmalita Ayuningtyas Harahap, S.H., M.H.

The event, which was attended by approximately 150 students, remained interactive until the afternoon and concluded with a Q&A session. The Impactful Legal Practice Internship program is planned to be fully operational in the even semester of the 2025/2026 academic year.
