[TAMAN SISWA];  A series of Departure Preparation events for the Credit Transfer Program to Lobachevsky University Russia and Youngsan University South Korea held by the International Program (IP) Faculty of Law, Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) has been successful. The purpose of this event is to provide provisions for participants to continue carrying out study activities abroad without forgetting the values ​​obtained during studying at UII and ready to face all problems later. The event, which lasted for two days, was held on January 13-14, 2022 and  this event was opened by Dean of Faculty of Law UII, Dr. Abdul Jamil, S.H., M.H. And he also presented about ke-UII-an.

In his presentation, advised the students who take part in this program that as the successors of UII’s ancestors, students were required to have the slogan “berilmu amaliyah beramal ilmiah” with the aim of preparing future leaders of the nation related to their readiness to face the risks in life. After the opening, the event continued with preparation materials and explanations regarding the Credit Transfer Program and Double Degrees.

This material was presented by Head of the Credit Transfer and Double Degree Program Implementation Team who is also  Secretary of the International Law Study Program for the Undergraduate Program, Dodik Setiawan Nur Heriyanto, S.H., M.H., LL.M., Ph.D.

The third material with the theme of Academic Commitment During Study Abroad was presented by Head of the Undergraduate Study Program, Prof. Dr. Budi Agus Riswandi, S.H, M.Hum., and  Head of the Masters Program was presented by Drs. Agus Triyanta., M.A., M.H., Ph.D.

Students who take part in this program are also provided with religious materials, the first of which is about Stability of Worship and Morals During Study Abroad by Secretary of the Regular Program of the Law Study Program for the Undergraduate Program, Ari Wibowo, SH, SHI., MH. Then continued material on the Terms and Pillars of the Friday Sermon by Vice Dean for Religion, Student Affairs, and Alumni, Dr. Muntoha, S.H., M.Ag.

 

The second day (14/22) of the Departure Preparation for the Credit Transfer Program, the first material was presented by Dr.rer.nat. Dian Sari Utami, S.Psi., MA, regarding Psychological Readiness of Credit Transfer Program Participants. The next speaker was Riefki Fajar Ganda Wiguna, S.Pd., M.Hum. He conveyed material about Cultural Awareness in South Korea and Russia. During this presentation, he invited the participants to play a game that sharpened the knowledge of the countries to be visited.

The next material is explained by dr. Hj. Emi Tamaroh, Sp.N. with a discussion, namely the Explanation of Health Protocols during Travel and Study Abroad. The last session on the second day was the Sharing Session of Study Abroad experiences deliver by three the students who were undergoing the Credit Transfer Program at Youngsan University, South Korea, namely Akhiruddin Syahputra Lubis, Aryana Sekar W, and Egita. This event was got good enthusiasm from the participants, because they said that the materials that were presented for the past two days were materials they really needed.

 

International Program The Law Study Program, Faculty of Law, Islamic University of Indonesia organizes an international program that will take place between November 23 – December 7, 2021. Program tersebut mengusung nama Virtual Teaching Collaboration Program (VTCP) 2021 dengan tema “Law and The Proliferation of Big Data” yang diselenggarakan berkolaborasi dengan University Malaysia (IIUM) dan Youngsan University of South Korea (YSU). Starting from the first meeting, namely the opening by the Dean of the Faculty of Law UII, Abdul Jamil, S.H., M.H. who gave a keynote address on the introduction of big data, its development, and its impact on individual privacy. After being opened by the Dean, it was followed by a report submitted by the Head of the VTCP Program as well as the Secretary of the International Program for the Undergraduate Law Program, Faculty of Law UII, Dodik Setiawan Nur Heriyanto, S.H, M.H., LL.M., Ph.D.

At the next meeting, on November 25, 2021, the presentation of material by Assoc. Prof. Sony Zulhuda, LL.B., MCI., Ph.D., and Prof. Dr. Budi Agus Riswandi, S.H., M.Hum with the theme Big Data and Privacy Law (Indonesian and Malaysian Perspectives). Furthermore, at the third meeting, on November 30, 2021, the presentation of material on Cyber ​​Law in Sharia Perspectives and Big Data under South Korean Law by Dr. Mahyuddin bin Daud and Prof. Jihyun Park. On 2 December,  Christopher Cason, JD., LL.M and Prof. Ida Madieha Abdul Ghani Azmi presented with the topic of Big Data in the United States and Issues on Artificial Intelligence under Malaysian Law. On December 7, 2021, closing as well as a presentation by participants who were represented by several people based on the distribution of discussion groups.

The Virtual Teaching Collaboration Program which lasted for 5 meetings with a duration of approximately 2 hours was enthusiastically welcomed by participants with more than 100 registrants. Each meeting is always equipped with several questioners who at the end of the event are given an award as the best participant. In addition to the best participants, awards were also given to the best presenters who presented the results of their group discussions. Even though it is held online, VTCP can still run well thanks to the enthusiasm and enthusiasm of the participants and organizers.

Wednesday, December 15, 2021, the UII International Law Study Program in collaboration with the Juridical Council of International Program (JCI) held an agenda, namely the International Student Colloquium (ISC) 2021 as a forum for law students to play an active role in improving themselves to become a brave generation, achievement, and character in this era. The agenda raised the theme “The Interface between Law and Technology in the time of Pandemic”, against the backdrop of a significant increase in the use of technology during a pandemic. The agenda began with the opening by reading “Basmalah” together led by the Dean of the Faculty of Law UII, Dr. Abdul Jamil, S.H., M.H. The series of ISC agendas are not just conferences, but there are other agendas, namely the presentation of “call for papers” by participants who have submitted previous papers.

The International Student Colloquium invited outstanding international speakers from South Korea, Hungary, and Indonesia. The material presented was extraordinarily useful and relevant to current technological developments. The first speaker is Prof. Park Jihyun from Youngsan University, South Korea, who talked about how technology can become a necessity for humans in today’s times such as all the conveniences of doing things without the need to meet people in person. For example, we can consult a doctor through the application, but what about the accountability of the data recorded in the application can be discriminated against for its safety. Prof. Dr. Fezer Tamas, Ph.D. delivered the second material. The professor from the School of Law, University of Debrecen, Hungary, discussed data protection and Cybersecurity Law in Hungary. Lastly, the presentation of material by Prof. Dr. Budi Agus Riswandi, SH, M. Hum., talks about the Future of Cyber ​​Law in Indonesia related to the existence of intellectual property rights of each subject.

The implementation of the ISC was received with great enthusiasm from students, considering that there were more than 100 (one hundred) people attending this event and it was followed by questions about the material presented by the speakers. The event was closed with the announcement of a call for paper a championship that was participated by several universities in Indonesia and Malaysia and the awarding of awards to the UII Faculty of Law academic community.

Faculty of Law Universitas Islam Indonesia has been committed to fully supporting all outbound mobility programs that are followed by its students. This is evidenced by the participation of students in the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) and the Credit Transfer Program. There are two of  Faculty of Law UII students that have been selected to take part in the IISMA program at the University of Sussex, UK and the University of Warsaw, Poland. As for the transfer credit program, Faculty of Law UII has built a partnership with Youngsan University in South Korea. Both programs are planned to be implemented in September in 2021. Therefore Faculty of Law UII holds a Pre Departure Program event to equip the  participants who participate in these two programs.

The Pre Departure Program event was held for two days, namely on August 9 and 10, 2021. The event presented several speakers, both Faculty of Law UII lecturers and speakers from related institutions. On the first day of the Pre Departure Program, began with a briefing on “UII’s Commitment” which was delivered by the Dean of Faculty of Law UII, Dr. Abdul Jamil, S.H., M.H. The second session discussed “Academic Commitment During Study Abroad” which was conveyed by the Head of Undergraduate Program in Law (PSHPS), Prof. Dr. Budi Agus Riswandi, S.H., M.Hum. The third session was filled with debriefing on “Consolidating Worship and Morals during Study Abroad” which was delivered by the Secretary of Undergraduate Program in Law (PSHPS) UII, Mr. Ari Wibowo, S.H., S.HI., M.H. and the last session was filled by the Secretary of International Undergraduate Program in Law UII Mr. Dodik Setiawan Nur Heriyanto, S.H., M.H., LL.M., Ph.D. which discusses “Departure Preparation (Non-Academic) and Explanation of the Joint and Credit Transfer Program.

On the second day of the event, Faculty of Law UII invited five speakers who discussed preparations related to psychological readiness when living and studying abroad, discussions related to cultural awareness in destination countries, explanations regarding health protocols during travel and studying abroad and the last one is sharing session with Faculty of Law UII students who have participated in the Double Degree program at Youngsan University. The first session was filled by Mrs. Dr.rer.nat. Dian Sari Utami S. Psi. M.A., who provided briefing on Psychological Readiness. The second session was filled with briefing on Cultural Awareness in South Korea, England and Poland which was delivered by Mr. Riefki Fajar Ganda Wiguna, S.Pd., M.Hum. The third session was filled with briefing on “Explanation of Health Protocols during Travel and Study in South Korea, England and Poland” which was delivered by Dr. dr. H. Ferry Ardiyanto, MMR from the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI). The last session was filled by Yuwan Zaghlul Ismail and Kurniawan Sutrisno Hadi. They are Faculty of Law UII students who are currently studying for a double degree at Youngsan University. They filled the last session by sharing their experiences while studying at Youngsan University.

The enthusiasm of the participants was visible in the program with the many questions asked. There were a total of five participants who took part in this event. Two participants are IISMA delegates and three participants are Credit Transfer Program delegates. The participants asked questions about the program and also expressed their concerns about studying abroad. One of the questions they asked was about how to deal with religious and cultural differences that could affect their daily lives when living abroad and so on. The questions and concerns raised by the participants can be answered properly by the speakers so that the participants are more enthusiastic in participating the outbound mobility program. At the end of the event, the moderator made an announcement regarding the most active participants in this event. The participants were Akhiruddin Sahputra Lubis and Aryana Sekar Widyaningsih. Both participants received prizes in the form of interesting souvenirs from Faculty of Law UII.

As part of the commitment to its internationalization programs, the Faculty of Law of the Universitas Islam Indonesia departed two students to undertake a double degree program at the Department of Law, College of Creative Human Resources, Youngsan University, South Korea, on Tuesday (23 February 2021). The two students namely: Yuwan Zaghlul Ismail and Kurniawan Sutrisno Hadi. Both of them are students of the 2018 FH UII International Program. This discharge event was carried out in a blended manner, attended by leaders at the university and the Faculty of Law both offline and online.

According to Dodik Setiawan Nur Heriyanto, SH, MH, LLM., Ph.D., Secretary of the International Undergraduate Study Program in Law, Faculty of Law, Universitas Islam Indonesia, in his report, the two students who participated in the double degree program in South Korea are distinguished students. Both are students of the 2018 FH UII International Program. Yuwan Zaghlul Ismail is a Mawapres finalist at the Special Region of Yogyakarta level (Provincial Level). He has been a speaker at a conference at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). In addition, Yuwan is one of the students who took part in the transfer credit program at IIUM in 2019. Meanwhile, Kurniawan Sutrisno Hadi, is the student with the highest GPA in 2019, with GPA of 3.99. He won awards in various moot court competitions on the national and international levels.

The two students will go to South Korea on February 25, 2021. They will study for two years at Youngsan University, South Korea, and will get dual degrees, namely a Sarjana Hukum (S.H.) from the Faculty of Law Universitas Islam Indonesia and a Bachelor of Law from Youngsan University, South Korea.

Considering Dodik Setiawan statement, during the Covid-19 pandemic situation, the Faculty of Law Universitas Islam Indonesia has been coordinated with Youngsan University. The two students have taken medical procedures for international flights, starting from taking the PCR test before departure, taking a series of medical tests carried out by hospitals recommended by the South Korean government to taking quarantine when they arrived in South Korea. In addition, the two students will also get the opportunity to vaccinate Covid-19 according to the schedule and provisions of the South Korean Government.

According to Dodik Setiawan, so far the Faculty of Law Universitas Islam Indonesia has also been very active in sending students to participate in credit transfer programs to several universities in the world, namely to IIUM, for six months (one semester) in 2019 and to Youngsan University, South Korea, during six months (one semester) in 2019.

Currently, the Faculty of Law Universitas Islam Indonesia has received a lot of international recognition. “Faculty of Law Universitas Islam Indonesia has also received certification from the ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) institution at the ASEAN level through certification number AP387UIIFEB19, which is valid from March 14, 2019, to August 7, 2023. In 2021, Faculty of Law Universitas Islam Indonesia is also preparing to get accreditation from the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA) in Germany “, Dodik Setiawan explained. In addition, in 2022 a visitation by FIBAA is planned.

Faculty of Law Universitas Islam Indonesia’s students are very active and winning various competitions at the local, national, regional, and international levels. These various achievements also prove the progress of the Faculty of Law Universitas Islam Indonesia as the oldest national law faculty in Indonesia. After this, the Faculty of Law Universitas Islam Indonesia will also initiate various double degree program collaborations with universities in the world, namely Coventry University in England, Maastricht University in the Netherlands, and Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakif University in Turkey.

Faculty of Law, Islamic University of Indonesia, in collaboration with the Faculty of Law of Youngsan University, South Korea have mutually agreed to implement a Double Degree Program that will be started in Even Semester Academic Year 2020-2021. The program is based on a 2+2 scheme study period. Successful participants of the program will hold dual degrees both Sarjana Hukum (SH) from UII and Bachelor of Law (LLB) from Youngsan University.

As the pandemic Covid-19 spread worldwide, it does not being an obstacle to hold academic learning and teaching. The Faculty of Law Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) is still insist to hold academic learning and teaching. Thereby, the Faculty of Law UII held International Students Colloquium, an annual conference.

In this occasion, the Faculty of Law UII had on Saturday, November 28, 2020, 08.00-16.00 Indonesian Western Time (WIB). Interestingly, the conference was held either online and offline. For the offline session at Hotel Grand Ambarukmo, while the online session at Zoom Meeting. The Juridical Council of International Program (JCI UII) accompanies the Faculty of Law UII, an organizational student established and operated by International Program students.

This year’s conference was discussed the theme of “Law and Development in the Era of Pandemic”. The conference was attended 389 participants along with 13 presenters from Indonesian students and foreign students. The conference’s session was split into two sessions, the session for presentation student’s paper and the session for the guest speakers.

For the session for presentation, student’s paper was split into two focus group discussions. For the first group discussion was presented by 7 following David from Universitas Borobudur, Jeremy from Universitas Gadjah Mada, Nik Hajar from International Islamic University Malaysia, Kenza from UPN Veteran Jawa Timur, Imtiyaz Wizni, et.al from International Islamic Univeristy Malaysia (IIUM), Aam Slamet, et.al from SMART Institute and Tazkia Institute, and Syed Ahmed et.al from IIUM. For the second group discussion was presented by 6 following Safira Dewata Putri Alpatra from Universitas Pendidikan Nasional Bali, Rohima Putri Ridhani, Putri Ariqah, Yuwan Zaghlul Ismail, Affan Maulana dan Aryana Sekar Widyaningsih from UII. There was a nomination for three best presenter following Nik Hajar on first place, Safira Dewata Putri Alpatra on second place, and the last is Affan Maulana. In addition, there is a nomination for the best paper following Putri Ariqah on the first place, Imtiyaz Wizni Aufa on the second place, and the last is Yuwan Zaghlul Ismail.

For the main session was presented of from the first speaker Assoc. Prof. Sonny Zulhuda (International Islamic University Malaysia) with the topic of Cyber law and the Covid-19 Pandemic. In the next presentation was presented by Prof. Jihyun Park (Youngsan Universitiy) with the topic of Law and Development in The Era of Pandemic South Korea Perspective. The last presenter is Dr. Budi Agus Riswandi (UII) with the topic of Flexibility in Indonesian Patent System for the Use of the Covid-19 Vaccine: What is the Solution. The moderator in this session was guided by Dodik Setiawan Nur Heriyanto, S.H., M.H., LL.M., Ph.D.

The participants was enthusiast in this conference. This is why the committee giving the award to appreciate the presenters. The nomination award for the best participants are following the first place to Annisa Aulya Putri, the second to Frances Annemarie Duffy, the third to Muhammad Sulhan, and the last to Wildan Amrillah Amrani. This international conference had conducted in the last three years and expect in the next year would be better.

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) have an impact to all of activity in this world. The system changed to online not only at the studying process, but also all academic activities were held online. Online system such an alternative to reduce transmission rate of coronavirus.

Youngsan University organize 6th Joint International Conference at June 30, 2020. This activity was usually carried out offline by presenting several speakers who presented their own topics. Committee of this international conference was struggled some way to held this agenda with paid some attention to the situation during this pandemic. This 6th Joint international conference was held online by the title “The 6th Joint International Webinar on Freedom and Responsibilities”.

The webinar was organized by inviting speakers from four different universities who presented their topics online. There were 11 speakers from four participating universities. They were Prof. Jawahir Thontowi, Ari Wibowo SH, S.H.I., M.H., Dr. Abdul Jamil and Dodik Setiawan, Ph.D as speakers from Islamic University of Indonesia. Dr. Beumhoo Jang, Yulio Iqbal, Galih Dwi Ramadhan, Malik Arslan and Fawad Mustafa as representatives from Youngsan University. Prof. Eddy Pratomo from Pancasila University, and Prof. Edy Lisdyono from University of 17 August 1945 Semarang.

Speakers were also came from various groups, they were lecturers and students. Yulio Iqbal and Galih Dwi were student speakers form Faculty of Law who currently taking a joint degree at Youngsan University. Both of them came from Indonesia, exactly they were alumnus from bachelor degree at Islamic University of Indonesia. Malik Arslan and Fawad Mustafa are also students speakers who are studying at Youngsan University, both from Pakistan. They presented the topic very well, look like lecturer speakers who had doctorates and professors.Speakers were presented different topics in this webinar. The combination of topics presented makes the webinar more interesting. Prof. Jawahir Thontowi attended the topic of Freedom of Human Rights and Discrimination which raised the conditions of human rights freedom in Indonesia and international. Dr. Abdul Jamil along with Dodik Setiawan, Ph.D. conveyed issue of the readiness of the justice system related to the existing pandemic under the title “The Readiness of E-Court System in Indonesia Post Covid-19”. Both of them said that e-court system was a good alternative to reduce physical contact between humans, especially in this pandemic condition. Ari Wibowo, S.H., S.H.I., M.H., shared his knowledge about The Restriction on the Right to Hold Opinions and Freedom of Expression in the Indonesian Context, this topics closely related to the recent condition of Indonesia where freedom of opinion was disrupted. Prof. Beumhoo Jang as a representative of Youngsan University brought the topic of Financial Disputes Settlement System in Korea and The U.K. Prof. Eddy Pratomo from Pancasila University firmly related the Legal Prespective: Freedom and Responsibility. Prof. Edy Lisdiyono discussed the Indonesian government’s policies related to the existence of a pandemic, by the title “Indonesian Government Legal Policies to Business Activities During the Corona Virus Pandemics”. The topic presented by the student speakers was interested too, Yulio Iqbal conveyed the Freedom of Academic, The Freedom of Speech of Academician Indonesia Case Study by raising the terror case of the Constitutional Law Professor in Indonesia lately. Galih Dwi Ramadhan discussed freedom in the world of technology with the title of presentation “Freedom and Responsibility of the Internet to Use Digital Image and Software Based on the Copyright Law Prespective”. Malik Arslan came with the topic “Impact of Covid-19 on Pakistan Domestic Industries and Regional Trade”, while Fawas Mustafa related the comparison of existing bank systems in Pakistan and other countries with the title presentation “Pakistan Banking Policies and International Banking Policies”.

All of speakers gave presentations in a very interesting, concise and clear manner so as to make the webinar held smoothly even though it was held online. The webinar was attended by around 50 participants from various different universities. Carried out for approximately two and a half hours, the webinar that was held successfully made the participants let go of each other long since the majority of participants who participated knew each other.

Youngsan University held a graduation ceremony for the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Program even semester of the 2018/2019 academic year last Friday (8/23/2019) at the main Auditorium of the M Building South Korea’s Busan Heundae Campus.
This event is a graduation ceremony with a total of 230 graduates from various study programs both from undergraduate to doctoral programs, namely 9 doctoral program graduates, 20 master program graduates and 201 graduates for undergraduate programs.
Among the graduates were foreign students from outside South Korea such as Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, China and several other countries. Among the graduates from Indonesia, there were 3 double degree students in the jurisprudence of the Islamic University of Indonesia batch 3. The three UII students were Dhita Rahma Yanuari (Student Number: 17912009), Rahayu Saraswati Herlambang (Student Number: 17912024), and Intan Griya Purnamasari (Student Number: 17912009), successfully completed his studies at Youngsan University and earned an LLM degree with cum laude with a perfect GPA of 4.50.
The double degree program held by the Postgraduate Law Study Program at UII and Youngsan University which has been running for 3 years is expected to continue, this is because in a short time the students achieve two legal degrees at once, so that they are expected to be able to produce qualified and skilled graduates. global.
