Faculty of Law UII Signed a Collaboration with PPIH in Budapest
As a form of internationalization activity, the Faculty of Law Universitas Islam Indonesia signed a collaboration with the Indonesian Students Association in Hungary. The signing of the collaboration was carried out in the city of Budapest (Hungary) on September 30 2023. The signing was carried out witnessed by the Head of Undergraduate Study Program in Law at the Faculty of Law Universitas Islam Indonesia, Dodik Setiawan Nur Heriyanto, S.H., M.H., LL.M., Ph.D. and Arya Wanda Wirayuda, S.Hum., MA as PhD Ambassador of A Doktoranduszok Országos Szövetsége (DOSZ) as well as Agung Wicaksono, Head of PPLN Hungary.
The direct signing was carried out between the Dean of the Faculty of Law Universitas Islam Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Budi Agus Riswandi, S.H., M.H., Ph.D. and Chairman of the Indonesian Students Association in Hungary, Marhadi, SE.M.Sc, CMM. “We hope that this collaboration can help friends who are studying in Hungary, especially in research, teaching and community service activities. Especially in terms of Islamic da’wah, the Faculty of Law Universitas Islam Indonesia is ready to hold online Islamic and Islamic Law study activities considering the Muslim community in Hungary there are still very few and there are no mosques in individual cities.” said the Dean of the Faculty of Law Universitas Islam Indonesia in his speech.
The Chairman of PPIH, Marhadi welcomed the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement. He has a huge hope that both of the institutions will create more collaborations and contributkon to establish academic culture and internationalization of academic programs in future. PPIH has enough human resources in the side of qualitative and quantitative research. In other side, the international network could be optimized with the Hungarian campuses hopefully with the existing agreement.
Arya Wanda Wirayuda, S.Hum., MA as PhD Ambassador of A Doktoranduszok Országos Szövetsége (DOSZ) said that “Universities in Hungary have produced many thinkers, figures and Nobel laureates. Strengthening cooperation between universities in Indonesia and Hungary is great opportunity to improve quality and recognition. Through A Doktoranduszok Országos Szövetsége (DOSZ) and PPIH are ready to bridge.”
Head of the Head of Undergraduate Study Program in Law at the Faculty of Law Universitas Islam Indonesia , Dodik Setiawan Nur Heriyanto, expressed his pride as one of the first alumni in Hungary. “I am very happy and proud that now more and more students in Indonesia are studying in Hungary. Moreover, the activities of PPI Hungary, which was formed in 2016, have become increasingly massive and interesting so that they are able to promote education in Hungary. We also really hope that there will be many alumni of the Faculty of Law Universitas Islam Indonesia or “Permanent lecturers at the Faculty of Law Universitas Islam Indonesia can continue their studies in Hungary. In 2022, we carried out these promotional activities and it is hoped that this collaboration will provide more benefits to the academic community.”
