Cultural Event 2024 Ngabuburit with IP FH

The Cultural Event 2024 was again held by The International Program for Undergraduate Study Program in Law, Faculty of Law, Universitas Islam Indonesia. This activity, which involved foreign lecturers and students, was carried out for 2 days and one night, which coincided with Friday and Saturday, March 22-23 2024, located at Sambi Resort and in Pentingsari, Cangkringan village. This 2024 Culture Event, which coincides with the month of Ramadan, carries the theme “Ngabuburit with IP FH: Understanding Islam During Ramadan and its Influence in Yogyakarta’s Cultural Heritage”. Apart from being an activity to increase familiarity between foreign lecturers, foreign students and teaching staff at the Faculty of Law, this activity is expected to provide useful insights related to Islam, especially in its influence on cultural heritage in Yogyakarta.

 

The Cultural Event 2024 was welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty of Law Universitas Islam Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Budi Agus Riswandi, S.H., M.Hum, and continued with the presentation of material and breaking the fast together. The first presentation of material as an introduction to Islamic culture during the month of Ramadan was by the Head of Undergraduate Program in Law, Dodik Setiawan Nur Heriyanto, SH, MH, LLM, PhD., with the theme “Introducing Yogyakarta’s Culture”, and the next material was “Understanding Ramadan and Islam in Indonesia” by Ahmad Sadzali, Lc., M.H. Apart from presenting the material, other activities carried out were craft making classes using Janur, breaking fast together, training in traditional Gamelan music and traditional Javanese dance, as well as playing games and also BBQ together after congregational tarawih prayers. Foreign students who took part in this activity were Meeran Hamid from Pakistan, Balogun Faidat Temitope from Nigeria, Abi Abdullah from Bangladesh, Firdoos Khan from Pakistan, and Nurakhmet Khairul from Kazakhstan. There are also 3 foreign lecturers at the Faculty of Law Universitas Islam Indonesia, including Christopher M Cason, JD., LL.M. from the USA, Ahmad Saad Ahmad Al Dafrawi, Ph.D., MD., B.Sc. from Iraq, and Frances Duffy, LL.M., Grad Dip Ed, BA., CEL from Australia.
